The Swedish Speedway Grand Prix

The Swedish Speedway Grand Prix, or SGP, is a popular motorcycle racing event held during the month of May every year. The races are between teams of motorcycle riders on an oval-shaped track, with one gear and no brakes. Where the race takes place varies from time to time, although it always takes place in southern Sweden.

 

Skärgårdsmässan

The Stockholm Archipelagho Fair, or Skärgårdsmässan as it is called in Sweden, is an annual cultural and trade event held in Stockholm, Sweden. This free event was started in 1989 and takes place in May. It is an entertaining outdoor event with Swedish food and music, and many different people from all kinds of countries and cultures flood in to it, making it a cultural melting pot.
 


Fresh Fish Fashion Fair

The Fresh Fish Fashion Fair is an annual design competition and fashion fair for all manner of designers. These designers include designers of shoes, jewelry, and clothes held near the Eriksbergshallen Hotel in Geothenburg. Although the name might make you believe that this festival is about fish, there are only fish-based fashions available at this fair.


The Nordic Oyster Opening Championship

The Oyster Opening Chapionship takes place in Grebbestad, which is a small fishing community two hours north of Gothenburg.This is currently its sixth year and chefs all across Scandinavia fight hard for the championship title of fastest oyster opener. During this event, oyster opening and harvesting activities are held, with diving and boat rides also available.

The LGBTQ Festival

Held in Gothenburg, this is the festivals 5th year since its debut in 2006. It is an art and culture festival that focuses on lives of LGBTQ people in an artistic and cultural way. This event hosts many events such as such as music, song, dance, theater, films and exhibitions that are created by some of the most prominent and exciting artistic creators in Sweden. The festival's goal is to encourage people to accept people because of who they are and counteract against prejudice and discrimination based on gender or personality.
